FLU PREVENTION, NATURALLY (PART 1)

FLU PREVENTION, NATURALLY (PART 1)

With all the hoopla over the H1N1 (Swine Flu) and H3N2 viruses, I want to address natural ways to prevent the flu. By natural, I’m referring to natural ways to maintain the integrity of our body’s immune system.

Now, more than ever natural flu prevention is important. Of course, one of the best ways to keep our immune system going strong is by getting regular stress-reducing chiropractic care. What? How can chiropractic care help prevent the flu, you may be asking yourself?

In 1986, Dr. Ronald Pero, PHD, who was the chief of cancer research at New York’s preventative medicine institute and professor of medicine at New Yor University collaborated with Dr. Joseph Flesia, a chiropractor and researcher, who was also the chairman for the Chiropractic Basic Science Research Foundation. Their collaboration led to the discovery that people who’ve had long-term chiropractic care had a 200% greater immune response and a 400% greater immune competence than people with cancer or other serious disease. Dr. Pero concluded that “Chiropractic may optimize whatever genetic abilities you have in relation to your immune competence.

“The study he is referring to consisted of three groups:

  • Group 1 – consisted of adults that had cancer either in their own life or in their family. Dr. Pero named this group of people the “Sick Group.”
  • Group 2 – had individuals who led healthy lifestyles and had no cancer in their own lives and whose families had no history of cancer. This group was named the “Healthy or Well Group.”
  • Group 3 – were a random group of individuals where some had cancer in their families. This group, from all appearances, led the average American Lifestyle which included the average American diet, etc. The difference between this group and the other two was that Group 3 had been getting “regular” (at least once a month) chiropractic adjustments for at least five years.

Dr. Pero further stated, “…that without chemical intervention (drugs), this particular group (Group 3) of people who received chiropractic care showed a greater immune competence overall.”
